POSITION OVERVIEW We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Elementary School Music Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep love for music and a commitment to fostering students\' musical abilities while promoting a lifelong appreciation for the arts. Requirements
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
-Develop and implement an engaging music curriculum for elementary students (grades K-2) that aligns with state standards.
-Plan and deliver instruction in a variety of music genres, including vocal and instrumental music.
-Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages students to explore and express their creativity.
-Organize and lead school performances, concerts, and other musical events.
-Communicate with staff and parents/guardians relating to music events through the production of a ‘performing arts calendar’.
-Be an advocate for music (both in and out of school) to students, parents/guardians and staff.
-Assess and evaluate students\' progress, providing constructive feedback and support to enhance their musical growth.
-Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the community to enhance the school\'s music program.
-Maintain and manage music materials and instruments, ensuring they are in good condition and properly utilized.

QUALIFICATIONS:
-Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Music, or a related field.
-Valid teaching certification in South Carolina or eligibility for certification.
-Proven experience teaching music to elementary students.
-Strong proficiency in vocal and instrumental music, with the ability to teach a variety of musical styles.
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-Ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
-Enthusiasm for collaborating with students, parents, and colleagues.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
-Masters Degree in Music Education, Music, or a related field
-Experience with music technology and digital tools for education.
-Ability to incorporate music history and theory into lessons.
-Experience organizing and directing school performances or musical events.
